DO YOU WANT TO UNDERSTAND NUTRITION AND ….
Gain Muscle Mass?
Understand Muscle Protein Synthesis?
Change your body composition?
Optimally fuel your muscle gaining phase?
ARE YOU CONFUSED AROUND NUTRITION FOR OPTIMAL MUSCLE MASS GROWTH?
First things first, the primary driver for your growth in muscle mass is not nutrition (I’m not going to lie…integrity and that!), in fact it is your training programme that is key. So first, get yourself a great PT who fully understands Hypertrophy and works with you to progressively overload. (If you need any recommendations, let me know. I personally know a lot of great coaches all over the UK and also Worldwide who offer 1-2-1 and online services).
However, adequate nutrition will support your training and therefore optimise your hypertrophy results.
The principle of Energy Balance (the law of thermodynamics) i.e. a calorie deficit for fat loss and a calorie surplus for weight gain comes into play here. Muscle mass can actually be gained in a small calorie deficit, at maintenance calories or a small surplus, but, this all depends on your training status, circumstances, preferences and goals.
HOW CAN WE HELP WITH YOUR NUTRITION?
The Surrey Nutritionist uses an evidence-based approach to muscle gain, empowering you to embrace a healthy way of living through the foods you enjoy and the life you lead. Our ethos is to not restrict food groups and encourage a healthy balanced diet of foods that you actually enjoy eating. (You won’t see any fish & rice cake diets with us!)
Building a foundation of knowledge to your diet is a key starting point to any successful Hypertrophy programme. Your general health, family history, dietary habits, digestive function, lifestyle and any medical conditions will all be taken into account before creating your tailored Nutrition Programme.
